Trinity
We have great links with Trinity school leading regular assemblies in both the Prep and Senior schools. We offer Independent Listening in both schools for young people who need a listening ear at troubled times in their lives & who may not want to share these issues with school staff. We also do Boarding Support duties one night per week which is a great opportunity to get alongside & get to know all the Boarding pupils both from this country & those from overseas.
- We are involved in establishing and now developing a Buddy Support programme in Trinity school that operates each week day in Year 7 form rooms. The Peer Supporters are Year 12 adn13 pupils who have undergone some training and their role is to be a friendly face, someone to talk to who isn’t a teacher about issues that a younger pupil might worry about but not talk to anyone about – such as bullying, being lonely, having no friends. The Buddies become the first line of support for younger pupils in Trinity who may feel lonely, upset and want a friendly face to help them.
- As a Boarding school Trinity has to have some Independent Listeners who can be contacted by either the pupils, or the school and our role is one of being around for the pupils to know us and being available to respond to any needs they may have – which may include issues around bullying, parental divorces, serious illness/death in their families, problems in school.
- We also offer Boarding support in Trinity school – spending one evening each week with the Boarding pupils making their time as settled as possible overseeing study time, meals and then organising activities once the study has finished. In past years we have taken group to see Premiership football, play golf at Hele Park driving range and some outdoor activities too.
